Dr. Perez-Medina then completed her residency in Periodontics from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis. The commitment to her profession is reflected in Dr. Perez-Medina’s continual pursuit of education. After completing her residency in Periodontics, Dr. Perez-Medina taught at the University of Tennessee Dental School, working as a hands-on clinical instructor and teaching a periodontal surgical course in the dental hygiene department. She also took the lead of an elective course in periodontics, teaching the senior dental students interested in pursuing a post-doctoral education in the field of Periodontics. Dr. Perez-Medina became a Diplomate of the American Academy of Periodontology and maintains her active diplomate status with continued dental education and re-certifications. She completed a Preceptorship in Dental Implantology from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, an Associate Fellowship from the World Clinical Laser Institute and an Advanced Training Course from the World Clinical Laser institute in the use of lasers in periodontics.

Dr. Perez-Medina has been married to her best friend, Dr. Jesse Medina, since 1993 and is a very proud mother of two wonderful daughters, Laurie and Carli. Dr. Perez-Medina always considered being a mother her greatest accomplishment in life. Dr. Perez-Medina is most passionate about her faith, family, church, her patients, the arts, overall health and fitness. She has served as a board member for the San Antonio Metropolitan Ballet since 2013 and is very involved in church and school activities. Dr. Perez-Medina’s philosophy for treatment is personalized periodontal care in a stress free environment!
